A MEMÓRIA DO CHEIRO DAS COISAS

"A Memória do Cheiro das Coisas", by António Ferreira, follows Arménio, an octogenarian and former combatant of the Colonial War who lives in a nursing home. Between the loneliness of everyday life and memories of the war in Angola, the film paints the portrait of a man confronted with guilt, ageing, and the need to reconcile himself with the past.

The story brings Arménio together with Hermínia, a young employee of African origin, whose presence gives rise to a deep relationship of solidarity in a space marked by sadness and memory. The cast includes José Martins, Maria José Almeida, Maria Manuel Almeida and Mina Andala. It is a Portuguese drama rated M/12 and with a running time of 96 minutes.
